Carey Ann Strelecki’s Summary
I have 19 years experience producing, writing, directing and doing research for documentary television, commercials, feature film and themed-entertainment.
This year and last, I’ve been writing for a PBS series documenting the role beads play in the history of ancient and contemporary humans entitled “World on a String.” The award-winning series was produced by award-winning filmmakers Diana & Lionel Friedberg and will also be shown at the Nat'l Bead Museum in Washington, DC.
Also in 2006, I co-produced a feature documentary with Academy Award-winning Dir / Prod Rick Trank for the Museum of Tolerance entitled, "I Have Never Forgotten You: the Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal." The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and played at Tribeca.
At the same time, I was the Senior Research Consultant on the Academy-Award winning film, "An Inconvenient Truth."
Prior to that, I produced a for Big Buddha Baba Productions (BBB) that introduced the exhibit of Paul Allen's eclectic art collection at the Experience Music Project. "DoubleTake" is an 8-minute film featuring Jonathan Hyde Pierce playing a comical art snob while introducing art appreciation concepts. The program won a Cine Golden Eagle, a Worldfest Gold Award and a Bronze Chris Award.
My TV producing credits include the Emmy-award winning science series, “Future Quest” (PBS) and the Ace-nominated anthropology series “What a World” (TLC).
In the realm of children's television, I directed and produced for Disney's One Saturday Morning on ABC, the highest-rated children's Saturday morning program during its run.
My work in reality television includes writing, story editing and post producing for “Design on a Dime” (HGTV), “House Hunters” (HGTV) and “House Calls” (UPN / syndicated).
In 1990, I received an Emerging Artists Grant from the NEA. I am a member of the Producers Guild, WGA and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
