    Calvin Sims was a reporter, foreign correspondent, and producer for The New York Times for two decades. His work has appeared across multimedia platforms, in print, podcast, documentary, and web video.
    Mr. Sims served as host of "The Conversation," a web video program at nytimes.com that features intimate interviews with prominent personalities. He also anchored the website's "World View" podcast, a weekly discussion of foreign affairs with Times correspondents from across the globe. In addition, he produced "Struggle for the Soul of Islam" a critically acclaimed documentary for PBS on the rise of radical Islam in Indonesia.
    Before joining Times Television, Mr. Sims was a foreign correspondent for the newspaper based in South America, Japan, and Indonesia. He has covered guerrilla insurgencies in Latin America, political developments on the Korean peninsula, and the advent of democracy in Indonesia. He has interviewed 30 heads of state.

He also co-edited an online encylopedia on terrorism for the Council's website. He was awarded the Council's Edward R. Murrow Press Fellowship. As part of his work at the Council, Mr. Sims served as a consultant for American University's Center for Global Peace,where conducted professional training workshops and cultural exchange programs for journalists in Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan as part of an effort to resolve historical conflicts.
