Development Engineer at General Motors

My primary job involves the Finite Element Analysis of seals for the V8 engine family. Developed tools and processes that reduce analysis turn-around time. Since seals (and electronics) are continually at the top of the warranty reports I have been able to document cost savings of roughly $70M over the last 10 years.
My secondary job is Analysis Product Design Liaison (SIDI Fuel System, Hybrid SUV, Extended Range Vehicles). Which basically means that I get a lot of phone calls with challenging problems attached to them.
My primary focus is on Cost Avoidance (during concept development) versus Cost Savings (post-production warranty) solutions.
