President & CEO of STETrevisions -- public relations and marketing for Web 2.0
Greater Boston Area
My professional background spans recruiting industry research, marketing, public relations, newsletter writing, ghostwriting, and college-level writing instruction. With the exception of the adjunct teaching I do for Boston University, I perform all my current roles through STETrevisions, my communications consultancy. Specializing in online news releases and PRSEO, STETrevisions provides public relations and marketing for Web 2.0.
I have written hundreds of news releases. Many have drawn the attention of decision-makers in my clients’ target markets. The content I create for the Web is designed to improve clients' search engine presence. It has also landed them in "Career Journal," the "Boston Herald," "The Washington Post," and additional news outlets, including Boston, Massachusetts' FOX News affiliate and others.
Another focus of STETrevisions is the talent management industry, particularly research and online content for it. "The Wall Street Journal" recently quoted me, for instance, on research I conducted under contract to Kennedy Information to determine trends in compensation within the executive search profession. Another example is my role as editor in chief of TalentManagementTech.com, where I lead the development of research, online PR and editorial for a burgeoning business community of HR professionals, recruiters and the companies that create these professions' technologies.

As editor in chief of TalentManagementTech.com (TMT, for short), a property of international b2b media company Tarsus Group plc, I lead the development of research, online PR and editorial for a burgeoning business community of HR professionals, recruiters and the companies that create technologies for them. In addition to creating content and exercising editorial oversight, I employ PRSEO to help elevate TMT's visibility in the search engines and among target audiences online.
Dubbed "as Web 2.0 as it gets" by the site's founder, TMT features a searchable directory online of more than 1,000 listings of talent management technologies and services. Anyone in the talent management industry who registers at TMT may blog at the site and post PR. Furthermore, companies listed in TMT's directory may expand their listings as they see fit -- for instance, by uploading news and press releases.

Kennedy Information, Inc. is a publisher of industry research and information and a producer of trade shows that enjoy national audiences.
As a research consultant for Kennedy Information, I compile reports that explore the executive and corporate recruiting industries. Additionally, as contributing editor to Kennedy Information's benchmark publication, "Executive Recruiter News," I work closely with the editor in chief to uncover and report news for the executive search profession. Additionally, "RecruitingTrends.com," Kennedy Information's widely-read online resource for the corporate recruiting community, counts me as a member of its advisory board.

Robert Siciliano, CEO of IDTheftSecurity.com and a widely televised and quoted personal security and identity theft expert, is a longtime client. Several publications have sought the articles I've ghostwritten for him. In a vote of confidence for my ghostwriting, "The Bank Fraud & IT Security Report" (BFITS), a high-end industry newsletter that has published our contributions since the summer of 2006, invited Siciliano to join its editorial board.
Susan Friedmann, The NichePreneur® Coach, is another client. A recognized thought leader in the trade show coaching, she recently wrote "Riches in Niches: How to Make it BIG in a small Market" as a way to share her expertise in establishing and profiting from niche expertise. The online news release campaign I've conducted for her improved her search engine visibility in association with keyword phrases pertaining to this new endeavor of hers and was a factor in landing Friedmann as host of wsRadio.com's "Riches in Niches Radio."

January 2003 — Present (6 years 7 months)

For CDM, I helped to manage the development of proposals in response to requests for them from municipalities throughout New England. Under aggressive, externally set deadlines, I coordinated the efforts of numerous internal stakeholders to complete these documents detailing CDM's engineering services. The role required an ability to develop, edit, and proofread technically complex descriptions of engineering projects.

October 1999 — March 2001 (1 year 6 months)
I joined The Weber Group in the fall of 1999 to take on my first-ever professional role in public relations. During my tenure there, the organization became part of Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
My tour of duty at this company found me developing detailed background documents to prepare clients for analyst and press briefings, monitoring industry news on a daily basis, securing executive-level speaking engagements at prominent industry events, and writing awards submissions that resulted in recognition and accolades for the company’s clients.
Master of Science , Communication, Public Relations, Writing , 1997 — 1999
As a graduate student at Boston University's College of Communication (COM), I completed a thesis that explored how the source credibility of online environments might affect traditional news media gatekeepers' control over information.
Surprisingly, the data revealed no statistically significant correlation between online sources' perceived credibility and people's propensity to believe posted content. The implications were obvious, at least in an abstract sense, suggesting that traditional news gatekeepers might one day see their influence wane. Blogs and other nontraditional, seemingly less credible online news sources have since knowingly, or unwittingly, exploited the new ground rules, becoming examples of the profound possibilities.
