Whelan Strength Training is one of the most comprehensive personal strength training, conditioning & fitness programs in the world. His duties include judging client/members physical capability based on functional limitations. He provides exercise prescription, rehab plans and testing exemptions (if applicable) for all client members. He plans and directs the development of long range plans and programs to include curriculum development, health and fitness activities, budget and facility requirements, and all equipment purchases. Bob uses the knowledge of his graduate level training in advanced exercise physiology, exercise prescription and program development, sports medicine, motor learning and sports psychology to make determinations of client/members training potential & limitations. He uses multiple training and medical data bases such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association, (where he served as the NSCA DC State Director for 5 years), and The American College of Sports Medicine as needed to make any determinations of capability and develop intervention plans. He has a strict standard of honesty in regard to a lot of the quackery in the fitness and nutrition field today and does not sugar coat information to get more customers to sign-up. He requires a one hour fundamentals orientation for new clients to be sure they understand what they must do to get results. Bob is a master motivator and can extract energy from anyone and also has a "total fitness" philosophy of body, mind & spirit which he tries to pass on to his clients. He's 100% against the use of performance enhancing drugs and his website NaturalStrength.com has been a world leader in the cause since 1999.
