I operate Mesh Media Strategies, serving clients in business with strategic consulting and hands-on assistance with traditional media and social networking. A second, related venture, Right Media Strategies, will offer related services and tools for political clients.
I served as the Director of Communications for the Tennessee Republican Party from November 2007 through May 2009, devising and implementing the communications strategy which helped the TN GOP win a historic victory in the November 2008 election as the GOP won a majority of seats in both houses of the state legislature for the first time since 1869.
A former journalist, my approach to media relations and communications strategy focuses on using the right tools to get the desired results, whether that be traditional media relations methods or heavy use of the new "social media,"
Before working for the TN GOP, I spent three-plus years as a media relations specialist and blogging coach in the office of University Marketing & Communications at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, doing a variety of traditional media relations work and leading the University’s efforts to connect with the world via weblogs.

Media/new media consulting. I served as the communications director for the Tennessee Republican Party from Ocobter 2007 through June 2009, helping the party win a historic victory in the 2008 elections when, against incredible odds, the party won its first majority in both houses of the state legislature for the first time since 1868.
I rebuilt the party's web communications strategy from the ground up, modernizing it to leverage the latest in social networking and open-source digital communications tools. The new web strategy delivered demonstrable results in increased grassroots interaction with the party, a higher profile for the party nationally on the conservative blogosphere, and the proven ability to rapidly generate a flurry of small-dollar donations online from the grassroots.
With the election of a new party chairman in May 2009, my role has changed. I continue to serve as a consultant on web-related communications for the Tennessee Republican Party.
