I take a “fix things once” approach to IT problems. Temporary fixes, while sometimes necessary, are not efficient in terms of a return on total time investment. This approach extends past problems and into daily routine – if there are repetitive and easily quantified tasks, the time spent automating them pays itself back quickly and can be spent on more unique problems.
