Barbara Chandler’s Summary

I have written on design, decoration, furnishing and interiors for 35 years, contributing news and features to a wide number of UK publications. I write on design every week for the London Evening Standard, and contribute to The Designer magazine and IDFX interior design magazine for professionals,
As a photographer, I have held many exhibitions. My series Visions of Poland was shown three times in London, and once in Warsaw. My show Love London was shown in Habitat on London's prestigious Regent Street in September 2008, with most prints selling out.
My handmade photographic greetings cards have sold in thousands, and are avaialable to the retail trade. They are currently stocked by The Conran Shop, London SW3. They are also sold on line, from www.barbarachandler.co.uk, where you can also see a wide portfolio of images.

  June 1988 — Present (21 years 7 months)

  At the London Evening Standard (my main employer), I cover current news/trends in interiors, design,and decoration (each week). I also source/commission photographs. I keep up to date with all major developments in design, and attend shows,in the UK/abroad. I write for the specialist publications IDFX and The Designer. I cover design for Scan in London (www.scanmagazine.co.uk)
  I have written many books,
  I am chair of the Homes & Gardens Classic Design Award. I was National Home Improvement Journalist of the Year, 2007. I won an award from The Designer Magazine for "Services to the Design Industry" 2008.
  As a photographer, my most recent exhibition was Love London, and was at Habitat on Regent Sreet in September 2008. My photographs (currently selling at Habitat in Regent Street) will shortly be sold at other stores nationwide.
  I also make up cards from my own photographs for sale at The Conran Shop.
  I am available for copy writing, for promotional leaflets etc, or PR campaigns.
