* Got introduced to Linux in High School
* Professional training at Deutsche Telekom, Hamburg, Germany for becoming IT-Systems Electrician Engineer (IT-System Elektroniker), focussing on Telecom and Computer Networks. During that time I was already a Linux user and improved my Linux knowledge through "learning by doing".
* Moved to Hannover, Germany in 2000 to work for Deutsche Telekom on the Hannover fair ground (Hannover Messe) to do customer support during CeBIT and Expo2000 fairs and to build the network infrastructure for the Expo2000 fair.
* Moved to Taiwan in July 2000 and started as system engineer for Linux and FreeBSD servers and other network gear at Dome Communications, Taipei.
* Switched company to Hauman Technologies Corp, Taipei in 2002, doing mainly customer support for professional network gear (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and develop Linux based network solutions for customers.
* Got myself involved with font developing on Linux, based on the fact that there was no decent Chinese support at that time. That lead to the CJK-Unifonts project (http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/CJKUnifonts). The background knowledge I learned by self-studying. Today my fonts are the default Chinese fonts on many Linux distributions.
* Expanded my project to develop input methods for Taiwan's local languages (Minnan, Hakka and indigenous languages) and locale development for Taiwan's indigenous languages.
* Got hired by Canonical to do internationalization and localization work for the Ubuntu Linux distribution
