Previously, as Director, office of the CTO at Symantec, Silverstone provided IT, Security Management and Compliance solutions for the unique IT challenges of mid to large scale Fortune 100 Financial Services, Transportation and High Technology organizations. From system design through execution, Silverstone has overseen management of hundreds of secure networking systems utilizing Internet, Cloud and Mobility technologies.

A frequently requested speaker and avid writer in Information Technology, Security Management, and Compliance issues, Silverstone is a regular contributor to information technology best practices and has also written and contributed to over 20 industry books, electronic publications, and magazines, including CIO, CSO, ComputerWorld, Network World, eWeek and other leading IT Publications. His articles and books have been translated into many languages in various locales. He also serves on IT certification exam advisory boards. Silverstone was nominated for his leadership to ComputerWorld's “Premier 100 in IT” in 2005 and again in 2007.

Silverstone holds a baccalaureate degree from Thomas A. Edison State College, and holds certifications for CISSP for security and CBCP (for business continuity planning) among many others. Prior to Symantec, Silverstone was the Chief Information Security Officer for Temple University and Bell Canada’s Teleglobe and was the Global Security Leader for KPMG Consulting.
