Senior HR Adviser at Express Couriers
New Zealand
I am a Human Resources Generalist with 8 years of experience in the wider HR field including 7 years of recruitment experience across almost all areas of recruitment. I've recruited across various Industries after making my start in IT recruitment. I am current based in the Freight and Logistics Industry, working for Express Couriers - a joint venture between NZ Post and DHL.
Prior to taking on this role I recruited across the Express Couriers business for all their Management and Specialist staff as well as some of their frontline operational leaders and staff. I have designed Graduate/Cadet assessment centers, manage Employment Branding (in conjunction with Marketing), and ran various recruitment projects.
I am a passionate believer in the importance of HR. I believe HR will become one of the pivotal functions in business over the coming decade as one of the key remaining areas where a long term sustainable source of competitive advantage can be derived.
My goal is to play a key role in driving the HR function forward and proving to the Senior Exec team that HR can create extraordinary value for a business. However, there is a lot of work to do around the development of meaningful metrics in HR and showing a genuine bottom line awareness.
What is measured is managed, and HR sometimes does not do enough to show how our initiatives impact profitability. Along with an ever increasing drive to do my very best in terms of my day to day generalist activities I am on the look out for new ways to find meaningful measures of HR's contribution to profitability.
My areas of expertise are in Generalist HR, Recruitment, and Employment Branding. I am Familiar with IT and Freight/Logistics Industries in particular.
