Andrea Böhmert is Co-Managing Partner of Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa and has been responsible for the initial set up of the Fund in South Africa.
From 2004 to 2007 she was Co-Founder and Partner of Cape Venture Partners, a VC intermediary focusing on providing mentoring support to high potential but early stage technology companies ready for external investments. In this role Andrea developed a strong network with the South African Funding and entrepreneurial community.
Andrea is Chairperson of the Cape IT Initiative, the Western Cape Umbrella organisation that represents the IT Cluster, and also serves as a Director on the Board of the IT Business Incubator, Bandwidth Barn. Before working with Cape Venture Partners, she had Senior Management positions at Dimension Data and Siemens.
She received her business degree from RWTH Aachen, Germany and holds an MBA from Henley Management College, UK.

The Fund, founded in February 2008 by SAP – Founder Prof. Hasso Plattner and MAN Ferrostaall, will build, hold and manage a portfolio of investments that have a unique innovative offering either based on the business model, product offering or underlying technology. Technology Investments should have an emphasis on telecommunications, mobile applications, media and software as well as clean technology investments such as renewable energy, energy-saving concepts and similar business segments in early stages of their development with the focus of their activities predominantly in South Africa and other emerging markets.
Over and above the capital injection and the active management support,HPVA's other value add and key differentiator is the national and international network access provided by its investors, investment committee members and not the less, its management team. Companies with international expansion strategies will be the core target market for the Fund.
