  Formulation lead for novel drug candidates to First-in-Human (FIH) projects, specifically delivering DPI formulations that are suitable for use in the FIH study for each compound.
  Investigate the effect of real inhalation profiles on drug delivery from inhalers used in the development phase in order to develop a better understanding of the interaction between formulation, device and subject/patient and to design early clinical studies to minimise variability.

  PhD , Pharmaceutical Sciences , 2003 — 2007

  Research project involved producing a stable system in pMDI aerosol propellants, which forms a drug carrier upon delivery from the device. Mixed solvent systems in HFA aerosol propellants, containing dissolved carrier-forming materials, such as phosphatidylcholines and non-ionic surfactants, were prepared in order to achieve a novel time-release profile.

  Best Final Year Project Award: Decalin-induced α2-U globulin nephropathy in the Hannover Wistar male rat. The study aimed at obtaining two marketing authorisations for two drugs that were under development in GlaxoSmithKline laboratories.
