  • Ohio River Bridges - East End Crossing

    • February 2013 to Present
    Team Members: Allison Riley

    The East End Crossing is a design build project featuring a state-of-the-art cable-stayed bridge crossing the Ohio River, a tunnel in Kentucky, and four miles of new highway in Indiana. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016.

    As a member of the design team for the East End Bridge, I have worked on several tasks relating to the bridge. These tasks include the following:
    - Preparing the Barge Impact Analysis Report
    - Preparing contract drawings
    - Performing the deck design for the transition spans

    A safety program was also put into place for this project. I was one of the safety leaders and held weekly meetings in the Morristown, Boston, and Baltimore offices.

  • Portal Bridge Capacity Enhancement Project

    • December 2008 to January 2013
    Team Members: Allison Riley

    The purpose of the Portal Bridge Capacity Enhancement Project is to replace a century old swing bridge with a stationary bridge that is high enough to allow for marine traffic to pass.

    For this project I completed the following tasks
    - Prepared contract drawings using Microstation
    - Laid out and computed all geometry for four bridges using InRoads
    - Prepared the Estimate of Quantities for two bridges
    - Performed the girder design for the Cayuga Dike Bridge

  • Interchange 6 to 9 Widening for New Jersey Turnpike Authority

    • August 2008 to October 2012
    Team Members: Allison Riley

    The NJ Turnpike Interchange 6 to 9 Widening Program consists of approximately 35 miles of roadway widened from 6-lanes to 12-lanes to accommodate the expected increase in traffic volume.

    I worked on the following items:

    - Prepared contract drawings using MicroStation.
    - Prepared the Estimate of Quantities
    - Conducted a review of shop drawings

  • Garden State Parkway Shoulder Restoration for New Jersey Turnpike Authority

    • May 2011 to September 2012
    Team Members: Allison Riley

    Shoulder widening from MP 93.5 to MP 99.5 on the Garden State Parkway. The section that Jacobs worked on consisted of three bridge replacements and seven bridges to be widened.

    On this project I worked on the following tasks:
    - Laid out all bridge geometry using InRoads
    - Developed contract drawings using MicroStation
    - Prepared quantity estimates for various bridges
    - Performed a dowel design for wingwalls
