I am a N.C. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#C004407) having earned my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in family and individual counseling. Prior to entering the MSW program, I completed over a year of coursework in the Masters of Counseling Program at University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) where I also undertook post-graduate coursework in Clinical Psychology. My experience lies with adolescents, couples, and families in a variety of settings including schools, agencies, and Carolinas Medical Center (CMC). I have counseled individuals, both adults and adolescents, couples, and families since 1997. Additionally, I have facilitated support groups with adolescents and adults and presented workshops for CMC, the Health Department, and private agencies. My experiences as a middle school teacher (from 1986-1990), work with families who have special needs children, and counseling in the medical field led me to private practice.
My professional goals include: Expanding client base for all practitioners in my practice; increasing group therapy practice; improving marketing solutions; increase professional networking; build program, "2HouseKids" a web-based support network to benefit children of families who are separating or divorced.
My areas of specialty include divorce/separation, couples, co-parenting, adolescence, anxiety and panic disorder, depression, grief/loss, relationships, parenting, adjustments/life change, chronic illness, and accessing community resources.
