The Charity Code Jam is about pulling people together to help charities with technology needs. I organize events hosted at different technology conferences, and aim to accomplish two specific goals. First to help charities in need with their critical technology centric projects and second to provide participants with unparalleled extreme hands-on training and experience.
During The Charity Code Jam, participants get a chance to build solutions, around the latest technologies and methods. They work in teams from around the world, all focused to solve real-life and complex problems all in a pressure cooker environment.
Participants are assisted by mentors and community experts in the field. These experts are available to answer questions and provide one-on-one assistance. At the end of The Charity Code Jam, participants get the satisfaction of helping a charity while learning skills that will help them in their jobs.

I started initially with the parent company of ZettaWorks, Smith and Associates, as their Internet Marketing Coordinator. However when ZettaWorks was spinned off as Smith’s IT Development company I was given the opportunity to transition also. At Smith and ZettaWorks, I worked on user interface design, usability testing, and requirements gathering. My responsibilities increased at ZettaWorks when I was put in charge of establishing the company’s Australia division and lead the TIBCO middleware training and development practice. Additionally my role included being project leader for TIBCO adapter development for corProcure.

I left college to start this venture during the Internet boom. In three years time I transformed a one-person, one-server in the closet, 100 sq. office spaced company, into an 8 person, 100 client, enterprise class organization. I oversaw and was intimately involved in the sales, marketing, project management and development of web sites. These projects ranged from e-commerce sites, to intranet development, to inventory tracking applications and distant learning sites. I successfully sold the company to Boumans & Associates, Inc. and moved West. Please ask to see the portfolio for this company, it was a great experience and helped me set the stage for a lot of my future accomplishments.
