Alexander Alexiev’s Summary
Studying networks in the strategic management of the firm. Recent research that I conducted found that diversity in the management team can greatly increase radical learning and breakthrough innovation. We saw a multiplicity social network effect - top managers with diverse backgrounds can contribute not only with their own original ideas, but are also able to connect with a much larger set of individuals from the lower ranks. This increases the chance that a great idea gets quickly noticed and turned into a new product or a service.
