    The network component of my job involved designing the foundational network infrastructure used to authenticate, track and manage clients' connections to the network.

    The security component involved designing the first iteration of the security mechanisms to ensure the integrity and security of our network. This involved extensive use of low-level linux programming in harmony with PHP for a usable interface.

    I also had the opportunity to put my hobby of rock climbing to use by climbing a handful of antenna towers to install or to maintain some of our long-range wireless equipment.

Lastly, I maintained the Macintosh lab, and worked evenings alone at the Network Operation Centre, maintaining and providing assistance to users in the 8 PC labs.
