    March 2008Present (10 months)

Jim Long is running as a senatorial candiate for the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party, District 14. He made headlines across the state when he reported numerous perceived violations of law at North Dakota's embattled Workforce Safety and Insurance where he was the Chief of Support Services.

Jim is running on a platform to eliminate corruption in North Dakota state government. However, in his address to District 14 Democratic-NPL leaders, he said "I am not a one issue candidate. I have a diverse background in technology, finance, and labor that will help make North Dakota a better place to live and work. However, it would be disingenuous for me to tell you that WSI is not one of my hot-button issues. I have my ears pinned back and I am coming at anyone who contributes or condones the corruption at WSI."
