Blogger and Editor
Quebec, Canada
I’m a blogger, editor and writer. I’m best known as the author of The Map Room, a blog about maps, and DFL, a blog about last-place finishes at the Olympics. The former gets more than a million page views a year; the latter generated significant media attention during the 2004 and 2006 Games.
Alongside the blogging, I presently work part-time as Senior Editor, Quality Assurance, in Health Canada’s Executive Correspondence Division, checking my co-workers’ output for grammatical and stylistic exactitude. My goals call for a mix of contracts, freelance work and my own writing and blogging projects.
I’m good at concise writing, especially writing that calls for explaining difficult or complex subjects in simple and easy-to-understand terms. I’m also a copyeditor and proofreader of fearsome meticulousness—but is there any other kind?
