Out of collage I worked in the promotions department of a Theater trade magazines called Theater Crafts and Lighting Dimensions where I tried to bring some fresh ideas to mundane things like subscription renewal letters and the like. Not long after, SPIN magazine called and I remained there until December 1996. They had just started a long transition from the paste-up to desktop publishing. I developed Quark templates and researched ways for the editors to deliver there work in a way that could be used in Quark. I commissioned illustration and photography with a bare-bones budget while designing the front and back of the book and features when I had time. In January of 1997 I was hired at Details magazine starting with front of the book design then moving up to designing feature stories and special sections. In 1999, I changed career focus by working as an interactive designer at Funny Garbage. At FG I worked on numerous types of design projects including web, animation, book and identity design. Now I am living on Maui seeking once again to begin a new chapter of my life, always with an eye on design and pop culture.
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, Dreamweaver. Bookbinding, letterpress and silkscreen. Typography, photography, HTML, CSS.
