I am A PhD student at the University of Nottingham, working in the area of e-Learning. My research interest is in Adaptive Educational Hypermedia Systems (AEHS), where the users are modelled to capture their interests, background knowledge, learning styles or previous experiences. Hence, provide them with the learning content or navigational paths that reflect those unique traits and characteristics.
However, the PhD experience to me is not only about studying. Extra activities take an important place in my plans. I have worked within my university’s student union and was elected as a: vice-president of the Islamic Society, Postgraduate Association (PGSA) committee member, and Postgraduate Research student representative at the Union’s Council and won the union’s prize in 2007.
In addition, being bi-lingual allowed me to volunteer within a local school in the "Language Buddies" project to support some foreign Arabic-speaking students.
A part from those activities, I am a weekly writer in Saudi Arabia's leading newspaper AL-WATAN since 2003.
In summer 2004, I worked as an intern Journalist at Arab News newspaper and I still work with it occasionally as a free-lancer.
My first book: “By the Hyde Park's Lake” (Arabic) was published in 2007, and it has been nominated for the “Sheik Zayed’s Book Award 2008”.
