I'm a journalist by trade who has been actively immersed in new media and professional social networking since 2004. My professional experience has been a blend of news media outlets and, more recently, in the small business setting focused on helping lawyers enhance their reputations through blogging. With strong communication, a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn new technologies, my goal is to remain active in the new media space and to educate those who are less web-savvy than I on the value of strong Internet skills.

Duties included generating story ideas, leading editorial meetings, copy editing and working one-on-one with paid & volunteer writers to help develop their writing voice.

Managed the 15-person executive team that controlled virtually all aspects of operations at KSUB, Seattle University's student-run radio station. Specific duties included organizing weekly staff meetings, resolving conflicts between DJs and executive staff members, enhancing the station's reputation through on-campus events and partnerships with other student groups, and working with the school administration to ensure broadcasts met university standards. I was also the first GM to convince Seattle University to provide financial compensation for high-level executive staff members (positions that in the past had be volunteer-only).
