Artist/Poet/"Hug" Provider
Washington D.C. Metro Area
My goal is to create the possiblity of inner peace for kids in crisis. I'm building relationships with schools and and hospitals to enable these kids to get "hugs" - teddy bears that will make them feel hope during a traumatic time of their life. An artist myself, I'd like to bring the area's creative talents -- artists, musicians, dancers to these hospitals along with these teddy bears. I'm looking forward to working with other creative people like myself to create the possibility of inner peace for these kids.
About me: Though I've always had a creative side, I've only recently brought that side out of me. In my most recent exhibit (see www.hyperactivestyle.com) at artomatic (www.artomatic.org) I created a 55-foot long exhibit on the irony of art commercialization. As a poet, I have written approximately 300 haikus, several of which are on www.hyperactivestyle.com. I'm also involved in theater. My current work in the performing arts involves behind-the-scenes work for an all volunteer political satire troupe for which I have assisted as a writer, artist, set builder, crew member and props staff.

I raise money for teddy bears to give to kids. We delivered 50 teddy bears to Georgetown University Hospital pediatrics (intensive care and oncology departments) on Christmas Eve. A local batmizvah girl is donating 70 teddy bears to Hugs for donation. The bat mitzvah girl and her friends "made" most of the teddy bears at teddy bear stuffing party. In a few days "Hugs" will have a post-Valentine's Day fundraiser party. A massage therapist and hypnotist will be on-side offer their services in exchange for donations to Hugs.
Now it's your turn! Contact me with your ideas for Hugs "bear-raiser," teddy bear stuffing events, or to donate money to Hugs.

Hexagon is Washington's only all-volunteer, for-charity political satire troupe. I have been involved with Hexagon since September 2006 as a writer, artist, set builder, stage crew and as a props crew member. I enjoy the thrill of the behind-the-scenes of the show because, to me, it's the "show behind the show."
