Sydney Skybetter’s Summary
Sydney Skybetter is a choreographer, curator, and management consultant for performing arts organizations. After completing studies at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Columbia and New York Universities, Sydney danced with Christopher Williams, the Hudson Vagabond Puppets, and the Anna Sokolow Foundation. His company, skybetter and associates, has performed at many venues, including Dixon Place, University Settlement, and the Dance Theater Workshop, among others. Sydney is formerly the Executive Director of the Battleworks Dance Company, and has consulted for David Dorfman Dance, Chris Elam / Misnomer Dance Theater, the Fourth Arts Block Cultural District, and the Jerome Robbins Foundation, among others. He is a Producer with the DancenOw|NYC Festival, serves on the Board of Directors of the Gotham Arts Exchange / Zia Artists, and is the Co-Chairman of the Tisch East Alumni Council. He received a Masters in Dance Performance and Choreography from New York University, where he was a Graduate Assistant in Dance History. He proudly resides in Brooklyn.
