Jim Helfgott’s Summary

Prior to joining Sand Cherry Associates to head up their European operations, Jim was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HBO in Central Europe. There he was responsible for the HBO brand in Europe as well as the growth of HBO, Cinemax and other basic channels owned by HBO and its partners. He also was responsible for the launch of the HBO family of services in new countries throughout Europe.

Jim has over 25 years experience cable operations and marketing, satellite distribution, wireless telephone integration and program distribution. Exposure to these different pieces of the same industry has allowed Jim to bring a very broad perspective to his new position at Sand Cherry Associates. As a seasoned broadband professional, Jim will be able to support a wide variety of needs for clients in Europe. In addition, with over 5 years in the European market, he is well positioned to support the current and new clients of Sand Cherry Associates.

Jim has a BA in Communications from Hofstra University. He has served as one of the founding co-chairs of CTAM Europe and has been named one of the 50 most influential people in the industry by Cable and Satellite Magazine Europe. Jim continues to learn Hungarian (not an easy language) and enjoys golf (a lot) and skiing (still a novice).
