Edrea Davis’s Summary

Whether she’s producing a hip-hop song promoting voting, managing the videotaping of a panel discussion to air on TV, or to utilizing social networking sites like “Myspace," communications consultant Edrea Davis stays at the cutting edge of emerging technology. Her new media savvy coupled with traditional PR training has resulted in highly effective multimedia campaigns that have shaped public opinion.

Her distinguished work enabled her to travel to The Netherlands, Switzerland, and South Africa to coordinate media for several United Nations World Conferences. In 2000, Davis made history coordinating a technology crew for the first online elections ever.

Davis self-published, SnitchCraft, an urban saga about a nightclub owner set up by a dishonest snitch. In addition to the strong social justice theme within the story, Davis included an “After the Book” section with statistics and a directory of organizations working to reform the criminal justice system.

The former executive producer at Bruce Dorn Films, a commercial production company based in Los Angeles, Davis managed budgets ranging from $300k to $1.5 million. Working with leading advertising agencies like Leo Burnett, and DMB&B she supervised the production of McDonald’s “Break In a Hurry” and award winning “Castle,” shot on location in Fiji, Egypt, and Italy.

Davis coordinated publicity for notable clients that include civil rights leader, Dr. Joseph Lowery and the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation. She has placed stories in national media including Associated Press and CNN. Her musings have been published in USA Today and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Previously, Davis served as vice president in charge of special events for Jazzmyne PR, a boutique PR firm specializing in entertainment publicity. Clients included The Tonight Show Band leader, Kevin Eubanks, and comedians, Jamie Foxx, AJ Jamal, and Michael Colyar.
