I am very interested in the energy field and nuclear engineering in particular. Currently, I am studying for a masters degree in nuclear engineering. I have also just completed a thesis, which involved applications using fluid coke activated carbon that is produced as a byproduct from the process of upgrading bitumen to synthetic crude.
Prior to August 2006, I worked at Celestica Inc. as a Program Manager for New Product Introduction (NPI). It was through this position that I developed relationship management and data management skills. I developed the ability to manage relationships effectively through coordination and execution of the NPI process. As the NPI Project Manager, I acted as the main point of contact for all steps of the process. I was directly accountable for customer satisfaction. As a result of my ability to effectively communicate, the program experienced 14 consecutive months of 100% on-time delivery. In addition, with improvements I was able to increase the NPI revenue by 25% year over year during my time at Celestica.
In the summer of 2004 I worked in the department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto where I was a laboratory assistant in the Unit Operations Laboratory. My tasks involved working with a team to design and reconstruct process, polymer, mass transfer, and thermodynamic experiments. In addition, I was solely in charge of designing and maintaining an undergraduate chemical engineering website, using HTML. At the beginning of the work term I discussed the work accomplished by previous employees with my supervisor and with effort we managed to double the productivity by implementing frequent progress meetings.
If you have any interests common with mine please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Daniel
