My goals are to continue to learn and to experience stimulating and challenging work environments. I am very interested in consultation work involving educational and/or social research.
I am a Educational Researcher with a background in research psychology. I developed my statistical and research expertise while working on research projects in the Psychology and Social Behavior Department of the School of Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine.
In the past two years I have worked on a number of consulting projects of note including:
*Working on the first Systemwide Strategic Plan for the California Community College System. I worked with a team of researchers to provide a data-driven 'external scan' document that identified important trends in demographics, law, student access and student success.
*My involvement in a year-long project to create an optimal method of enrollment projection for the system as a whole as well as for each of the 109 individual community colleges.
*Participating in the Technical Advisory Group for the creation of a system-wide performance and accountability reporting system which was mandated by Assembly Bill 1417. The success of this project resulted in the release of $34.1 million dollars to the community college system.
As a Past President of the California Association of Institutional Researchers and the current Vice President of the Research and Planning Group for California Community Colleges, I like to keep my finger on the pulse of education in the state of California and, more generally, the entire nation. I have worked in the California State University system and the University of California system. I consider inter-segmental collaboration to be a key goal to improving educational outcomes and attainment for Californians. I have worked extensively with institutional researchers at the University of California, Irvine and at Sacramento State as an adviser and collaborator.

As Director of Planning, Research & Knowledge Systems I facilitate Master Planning and Strategic Planning for the College. I also supervise the Planning & Research Office where we provide decision support services to the executive adminstration, the board and to other college stakeholders.
We conduct external scans and surveys to recognize challenges and opportunities facing the College. We also track historical trends and project future demographic and enrollment trends.
Part of our office's responsibility is to respond to required federal and state reports and to keep abreast of changing legislation and requirements. In addition to our survey work, we maintain a data warehouse that provides essential data for making intelligent decisions that are in the best interest of our students.
