Scott Gavin is the Managing Director of Applied Trends. Scott has spent the last 10 years in technical implementation and project management roles for global blue chip companies, including Pfizer Global Research and Development.
Scott founded Applied Trends after a number of very successful years implementing wikis, blogs, social bookmarking and other Web 2.0 tools for some of the world’s largest companies. Scott’s work, views and ideas in the area of Enterprise 2.0 (the application of Web 2.0 tools for business) have gained him international acclaim and recognition. He speaks at some of the largest and most respected industry events around the world, to which businesses attend to learn more about the benefits and opportunities of leveraging this new tool set.
Applied Trends now works with companies of any size to assist in the selection, implementation and adoption of the Enterprise 2.0 tool set and culture. Applied Trends also works with some of the biggest names in the industry including Dion Hinchcliffe, the Web 2.0 University and O’Reilly Media. My educational achievements include a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business and IT, a BTEC GNVQ Advanced Certificate in Business and IT, a Diploma in Marketing and an award for Business Student of the Year in 1996 for a BTEC First Diploma in Business Studies. I am also PRINCE2 (Projects In Controlled Environments) qualified.
I'm passionate about helping businesses explore and exploit the opportunities presented by web 2.0. Whether it be the use of social software to improve collaboration and communication or applying the cultural aspects of some of the most successful and inspirational movements we are seeing on the internet.
