Being the alpha geek for a mid-size newspaper means you're responsible for everything from Internet mail and system administration to application architecture. Just like everyone else at the time, we wrote our own rapid development framework and content-management system. Successfully planned and managed three server migrations, including a move to a new CMS. Introduced PHP, Ruby on Rails and improved development methods. Implemented a mobile internet node using Wi-Fi and satellite connection based on a 1965 Ford Econoline chassis.
