The Brockport Riverbats play in the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Founded in 1978. The NYCBL is a development league for professional baseball and is sanctioned by Major League Baseball. The team tplay a two month short season minor league schedule.
Four Riverbat players were drafted in the MLB draft in June 2007. Eight Riverbat alumni are playing baseball professionally.
The Riverbats won the NYCBL title in 2008 defeating the Glens Falls Golden Eagles 3-2 in game 3 of a 3 game series. -
