(Legal Services industry)
September 2007 — Present (1 year 4 months)
This position combines reimbursement and compliance responsibilities in the healthcare industry. My clients are hospitals whose patients’ health plans have denied or underpaid their claims for reimbursement. My job ultimately is to ensure that the payers fully reimburse my clients as required by law and contract. When they refuse to comply with their obligations, I vigorously advocate to obtain what my clients are owed.
(Management Consulting industry)
July 2006 — September 2007 (1 year 3 months)
This position combined professional consultation and business-development duties. My clients were human resources professionals and third-party recruiters/headhunters who needed effective pre-hire background-screening and substance-testing programs that complied with each one’s unique combination of federal and state law and industry requirements, while still identifying potentially bad hires. I provided the regulatory and technical advice necessary for designing the programs, and then by coordinating with the company’s services providers we implemented the programs on a functional level.
