  • President

    Embarc, Inc.

(Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Information Services industry)

    December 2003June 2006 (2 years 7 months)

Embarc was a Website execution and development company located in Newton, MA. I joined the company in 2003 as creative director and later served as President of the agency. During my tenure, we restructured the company, realigned our resources and within the next year and a half, the company was acquired by another agency.

  • Founder

    Tree Frog Productions

(Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Information Services industry)

    November 1998December 2003 (5 years 2 months)

Upon the successful merger of ABT, Myles chose to move closer to Boston and advance his Interface Design career. After a brief Web design contract in a dotcom start-up called, LifeSimple, Myles began seeking his next engagement, but this time set out interviewing at some large corporations in Boston and New York. These were some crazy times indeed for any professional that already had 4 or 5 years of Web experience!

When I walked into an interview, many companies already had contracts and signing bonuses waiting for me to sign when I arrived. Within two weeks time, I had accumulated a short list of about 10 job offers to consider. Not certain of which opportunity to accept, a colleague recommended that I start a new business and ask each of these companies if they would consider being clients. I did and 8 out of the 10 said, "yes". So we formed Tree Frog Productions that day.

  • Director Internet Services

    Advanced Business Technologies

(Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Information Technology and Services industry)

    19961998 (2 years)

I was still designing the Websites from Kentucky and my friends at ABT were hosting them for us. One very late night while uploading files to their server, the founder of ABT asked me if I would consider moving back home to create a Website division from the ground up for him. Within a few weeks, my bags were packed and we were on our way back home.

While I was Director of Internet Services for ABT, we created a new content management system, which was my first Internet application interface design project and product branding project. We did quite well with it actually and I still apply the usability principles I learned while creating the EasyWeb product suite. Our little company grew from 3 people in a basement to a company of 10 in an office next door to the Chamber of Commerce.

  • Director Internet Services

    The Creative Group

(Public Company; 1-10 employees; Information Services industry)

    19951996 (1 year)

As Director of Internet Services, I created the new Website design department for the firm. Our clients included, Trane Air Conditioning, 1996 Olympic Games, Lexmark and The Salvation Army

  • Web Developer and Graphic Designer

    Thoroughbred Sports Network

(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Sports industry)

    19941996 (2 years)

I was responsible for creating the interface for the company's first series of websites. These were the early days of text-based browsers... until Netscape was first released. Our site was among the very first to use realtime data feeds, real audio, credit card processing and personalization.
