Jackson is well-known as a user experience designer, product strategist, and front-end developer, speaking both regionally and internationally on topics from microformats to agile processes to user research. His emphasis on learning from fields not traditionally associated with the web, such as psychology, cognitive science, sociology, philosophy, and the hard sciences has served to help him produce unique solutions to challenging problems.

In the DC region, Jackson is best known as a community organizer, running Refresh DC, the region's most active meetup of web practitioners, as well as other successful events such as the DC Talks Series, BarCampDC, and more.
A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Jackson holds an AB in philosophy and music from Bowdoin College and studied voice pedagogy and education at Westminster Choir College in Princeton.
