I graduated from Auburn University, Cum Laude, with a degree in public relations and an emphasis in marketing.
In July 2006, I started work for Edelman in its office in Washington, DC, with the online advocacy group. My greatest area of specialty lies in online communications, so I'm thrilled that my day-to-day job lets me employ these skills.
My last semester at Auburn, I was fortunate to take advantage of two internships: one with Camp ASCCA, and another with New Communications, LLC. Both offered me great opportunities to gain experience in how new media can be used in an organization’s PR/comm efforts. I was thrilled to be able to attend the New Communications Forum in Palo Alto, CA, in March 2006, as aiding in its production was part of my internship with NewComm. Camp ASCCA is making huge strides with the use of social media, as well. Visit their Web site (www.campascca.org) to see the outstanding work they continue to do.
I’m the founder and managing editor of Forward (www.forward-moving.com), an online learning community targeted at young people in PR. Forward was launched in March of 2006 and is proving to be a very valuable and rewarding experience. I get to work with a top-notch team of people through the site, and we plan to continue to grow this resource for years to come.
