Ghislain Barbe’s Summary
I have been Art Director at Artificial Mind & Movement (A2M) since 2004, with added responsabilities as Artistic Lead for a team of over 15 in 2007. Prior to this, I had been Senior Conceptual Artist since 2002, working in both in R&D and production. The console titles I worked on at A2M include Monster House and Teen Titans as Art DIrector, and Carmen Sandiego & the Secret of the Stolen Drums and Disney Move as Concept Artist. I was previously at Digital Concept Studios canadian office.
Before entering full time the gaming industry, I've worked over 7 years for Montreal-based roleplaying book publisher Dream Pod 9. As its Lead Designer, I created the visual universe of brands such as Tribe 8, Jovian Chronicles and mainly Heavy Gear, which became 2 Activision PC games on which I collaborated and a TV series.
In the animation industry, I was Character Designer and Storyboard Artist for animated TV series such as Sagwa The Chinese Siamese Cat, Pig City and the animated feature Lion of Oz and the Badge of Courage.
I developed some online interactive contents with Cinegroupe Interactive and Sarbakan, and was responsible of the Environnemental Design of the universe of Loto-Quebec's first interactive lotery Les trésors de la tour.
I have a Master Degree in Film Studies from Laval University, and a Degree in Graphic Design concomitant to a General Degree in Film Studies, History and Sociology.
