VP Product Technology (LexisNexis Courtlink)
Greater Philadelphia Area
I am an experienced executive who has been able to "bridge the gap" between the business and technology worlds. I take pride in the fact that I can still create product, writing code and staying up to date with the latest technologies. At the same time I feel comfortable in all aspects of business management. I take great delight in being able to formulate new products and new product ideas and to be instrumental in all aspects of bringing those product and ideas to market. My current role at Lexis Nexis Courtlink is fairly undefined. I have the freedom to not only create new product but to be an expert resource assisting others attempting to "get something done". In addition to my involvement with our customer facing products I am also responsible for much of our internal reporting and customer data management systems and I actively participate in the management of our division.

Built online portfolio information, asset management and portfolio analysis products used by hundreds of companies. We were the preprocessing agent for a number of SEC filings including Institutional and Mutual Fund holdings, 5% holdings and Insider holdings. Built a variety of products around these filings as well as products devoted to measuring portfolio performance. The company was sold in 1985 to Elsevier US Holdings who in turn sold the company in 1987 to Thompson. I remained until 1990 to satisfy the terms of the original sale of the company.

December 1973 — June 1979 (5 years 7 months)
I joined SEI in 1973 as the 6th employee. The company was in the process of developing a product that would enable the computerization of bank trust departments. Trust accounting was a huge task involving many different functions and had been handled as a manual process at this time. Our system "Trust-Aid" enabled a bank or trust company to convert their manual records to our automated offering. I originally joined the company to assist in this conversion process but exhibited an ability in and an affinity for developing software. As the product and company grew I assumed the leadership of the sotware development effort, managing a department of more than 40 people by the late 70's. By that time the company had grown to more than 300 people with many millions in revenue. Today, SEI is a multi-billion worldwide diversified financial services company employing thousands of people.
