Todd Gloria is a native San Diegan whose life's work is the ideal blend of community activism and government experience.
Todd is the District Director for Congresswoman Susan A. Davis. In this capacity, he manages the Congresswoman's San Diego office and staff. Additionally, Todd is responsible for defense, veterans, housing, and budget issues. He also represents Congresswoman Davis in the Mid City communities of City Heights, Hillcrest, Kensington, Normal Heights, North Park, Talmadge, and University Heights. Todd has worked for the Congresswoman since 2001. Previous to that he worked for six years in the County of San Diego's Health and Human Services Agency.
In 2005, the San Diego City Council unanimously appointed Todd to the Board of Commissioners of the San Diego Housing Commission. The Board oversees the Commission's $224 million annual budget that serves nearly 75,000 families. Previous to his appointment as a City Commissioner, Todd served as a member of the Commission's loan committee approving financing packages for the creation of over 2,000 affordable housing units throughout the city.
Outside of his professional work in government, Todd is active in his community. Todd is a resident panelist on the Mid City Prostitution Impact Panel that works to deter criminal activity in City Heights. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center and recently completed a term as its Chair. Todd is also an enrolled member of the Tlight-Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
A reflection of San Diego's diversity, Todd's ethnic heritage is a mix of American Indian, Filipino, Latino, and Dutch ancestry. Todd is a graduate of James Madison High School in Clairemont. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Diego. He and his partner, Jason, are homeowners in the Cherokee Point neighborhood of City Heights.
