Entrepreneur and Open Source Software Evangelist
Hong Kong
I'm an entrepreneur and self-titled open source software evangelist.
In 2006 I co-founded JadeTower, a startup providing on open source software training and consulting. In 2007 I established a Hong Kong subsidiary of JadeTower.
I am currently on the board of directors of the Apache Software Foundation, a US non-profit providing legal and infrastructure support for open source software, primarily web infrastructure such as the Apache web server. I contributed to several Apache and non-Apache open source projects, usually in the Java container and component space, such as Apache Avalon and Apache Excalibur. I am also a noted developer and consultant on the Eclipse Rich Client Platform, an open source platform for desktop applications.
My prior professional experience includes several years as a software engineer for Sony Electronics developing in-house J2EE applications.
I am currently residing in Hong Kong as part of an effort to understanding and improve the adoption and development of open source software in greater China.
