I write. I teach. I consult. I advocate.
Current public-interest projects include serving on the Carrboro Local Living Economy Task Force and the Orange County Human Relations Commission.
This summer, I'm doing several training sessions for school teachers and communications professionals around writing, editing and productivity. If you're interested in learning more about that part of our business, drop me a line.
Ditto if you're looking for freelance writing help. Our team of scribes is awesome.
Similarly, if you're interested in education reform or local living economies, I'd love to hear from you.

I'm the operations guru for Teaching That Makes Sense, Inc. We provide teacher training, model classroom instruction, curriculum development, enterprise technology and other products and services that make teachers and administrators more effective, help schools raise scores on high-stakes tests, and help students develop real-world skills that prepare them for the future. The company’s authentic approach to teaching earned it the 2001 Innovators in Education Award from the Newspaper Association of America, and earned www.ttms.org an “A” from EducationWorld.com.

I deal in business and pleasure, covering three beats: sex and relationships, commercial real estate (office and housing) and general business. I know, that's a strange combination, but it's been working for me since 1993. Go figure.

LIPS contracted with me to revamp its original business plan and create a set of strategies for meeting potential venture investors, establishing analyst coverage and securing an infusion of venture capital. It worked -- we got a $9-million investment). I established an IR/corporate communications position for the company and consulted with the business development and marketing teams to secure case studies with key vendors/suppliers, leverage contacts and create advertising and promotional materials.
