Sebastian Moeritz’s Summary

Sebastian is an entrepreneur with an extensive business and corporate experience in a number of international markets.

He is an internationally recognised figure in the field of digital TV and video coding with its various applications. With an extensive network of contacts across the technology, media and telecommunications sectors as well as in the financial community, he combines business acumen and corporate experience with technological knowledge providing a practical perspective and strategic commercial approach.

After studies in social sciences and economics, he previously specialised in property and investment with a specific focus on Russia. Since 1996 he has been involved in a number of information technology related ventures and joined dicas, a developer of ISO MPEG-4 real-time video coding solutions, based in Germany, as its CEO in the beginning of 2001.

Since 2004, Sebastian is President of the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF) and has been on its Board of Directors since 2002 serving as Treasurer until 2004.

He is a regular chairman, speaker and panelist at industry events and conferences accross Europe, North America and Asia; and has written several articles and opinions for various industry and trade publications.

He is regularly lecturing at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and listed in "Cable and Satellite Europe's Euro 50 for 2004", which features the leaders in Broadband and Pay-TV across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Sebastian is also a Co-author of the book "Understanding MPEG-4 - Technology and Business Insights" (with Prof. Dr. Klaus Diepold of the Technical University of Munich, Germany) published by Focal Press. For more information, please visit:
