Previously, Head of Product Scirus, Elsevier's free Web search engine, leading the development of Scirus into its position of most comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet.
Before joining Reed Elsevier, worked as a Senior strategy consultant at Boer & Croon, a Dutch consulting firm, assisting clients in developing and executing Internet strategies. Started career as Principle Consultant at AMS, an American IT consultancy. Served as a project manager, development team leader and senior architect working on large-scale billing and customer care projects for telecom operators at various locations in Europe and the US. MSc in Physics from the University of Groningen.
