David M. Aferiat’s Education
-
Southern Methodist University
MBA, Marketing, Finance, 1994 — 1998
I loved my MBA as an experience in group learning and project-driven assignments surrounded by bright, ambitious colleagues. These extraordinary people motivated me to a higher gear of achievement. The team-building experiences and innovative meta-business courses offered at the "Business Learning Center" were invaluable. The MBA also filled in some gaps the business education left from my Liberal Arts degree. Throw in the fact that half of the education was financed by my employer, Kraft Foods (for which I am forever thankful), and it was an opportunity I could not miss.
-
The University of Texas at Austin
BA, French, Economics, 1989 — 1993
Austin and the college experience was like paradise on earth and I wanted to learn from every corner of it. I couldn't bring myself to enroll in the business school and crunch numbers so I happily signed up for everything in the Liberal Arts college: Art history, French (which became one of my majors), and (as a compromise to my practical self) Economics (which was my other major). I'm grateful that Economics was/is considered a social science at UT and belonged in the Liberal Arts college where my electives were much more interesting.
