Bruce Johnstone has recently completed a PhD thesis in economics (entrepreneurship) as a part-time doctoral candidate at AUT University (www.johnstone.co.nz).
Bruce Johnstone is a director of DIRECT Home Loans Ltd. which provides mortgage broking services online and brokers mortgage and business finance for a panel of twelve lenders that includes most major New Zealand banks as well as a number of innovative non-bank lenders.
Bruce also heads his family investment vehicle, Johnstone Investment Group, which owns a portfolio of commercial and residential real estate assets in New Zealand.
Bruce acts as an advisor to a number of companies in areas as diverse as motorsport technology, executive education and venture capital.
He has skills in sales and marketing, customer service, negotiation, media and the management of innovation.
His background includes many years experience in negotiating commercial radio advertising contracts with a wide range of business clients, managing high performance media sales teams and ultimately performing in a governance role in the New Zealand Radio Broadcasting Industry. He has experience in launching and developing a number of multi award winning media businesses culminating in successful trade sales.
Bruce Johnstone has just completed a PhD thesis in economics at Auckland Institute of Technology (AUT). He has a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Communications, an MBA from Henley Management College (UK), post graduate qualifications in business research and property (real estate) studies and is an Associate of the Real Estate Institute in New Zealand, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and a foundation member of the institute's mentoring program.
