Chief consultant at the Danish IT and Telecom Agency
Copenhagen Area, Denmark
I have been self employed most of my career. I was co-founder of a software development company specializing in SGML and XML database publishing techniques. I taught some of the earliest courses on XML and XSLT and have designed and implemented several advanced XML and SGML transformation solutions. I have also participated in a number of development projects as a programmer (what a wonderful time) but later ended up as project leader and Chief Technology Officer. I worked for one year as an independent consultant on XML-technologies to the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation prior to my current job. I got employed at the Danish National IT- and Telecom Agency after a 6 months sabbatical, where I travelled around the world with my wife and 3 children. I quickly became responsible for standards development related to a new invoicing law which was enacted in 2005. This initiative put Denmark on the lading edge of electronic invoicing worldwide. We exchange 1.25 million invoices every month! I have been working with building a SOA infrastructure to support e-procurement since early 2005. This initiative will put us on the leading edge again in 2008 and 2009. Eat your heart out!
My goals are to make integration of public IT systems using XML and Service Oriented Architecture and Infrastructure a success.
Service Oriented Architecture, Service Oriented Infrastructure, XML and Information Architechture, Web Service Profiles, E-procurement, WS support for complex Business Processes, Design and implementation of National and International message transport infrastructures.

I participate in International standardization (OASIS UBL) and has been appointed Technical Director of a potential new EU project which will begin in early 2008. I give talks and write papers on e-procurement and Service Oriented Infrastructure at various conferences around the world.

I was among the founders of Integrator ApS in 1994. We developed advanced database publishing applications and product data management applications based on XML and SGML. Our software could produce printed phone books (yellow pages) and advanced product catalogues and automatically generated newspaper adds. We later merged with one of our competitors (Uniware A/S). We became the leading XML knowledge house in 1998 and helped other companies in developing advanced XML solutions though our courses and as consultants. I filled the position as CTO for about 4 years and I was involved in the development of several large scale multi million DKR projects.
