I think it's pretty fair to say that I'm a "people person." I love to understand what makes people tick, what makes them laugh or cry, and what makes them believe that their lives are meaningful. Spot me at a party, or any organized gathering, and you're liable to notice I've monopolized some poor person, querying him about his life story, and hanging on every word. The subject matter is endlessly fascinating to me, and I'm most compelled by the notion that it is one's unique perception of everything that determines its meaning and value.
Of course the same tenet of "perception is reality" is true within the world of Recruiting and Human Resources. We know that people are an organization's most valuable resource but sometimes in the rush of our daily work lives, we forget about how their perceptions of us tell them whether or not we're a desired employer of choice. And worse yet, we don't even ask them what they think about us, about our opportunities, about what it's like to work for us, and oh-my-gosh, what it was like to get a job with us!
At Improved Experience, I work with companies to gather quantitative and qualitative data about a company's hiring process in order to help them move toward greater excellence in recruiting, early employee engagement, employer brand perception, diversity outreach, retention, and quality of hire. Acting as third party researchers to our subscribing customers, we provide an online automated survey and reporting tool that displays the anonymous results in a real-time recruiting intelligence dashboard.
