Michel Lévy-Provençal’s Summary

I am engineer specialized in Multimedia . During ten years of experience in several IT service companies I lived four transformations on Internet:
- in 1997 the creation of the e-commerce,
- in 1999 the first projects of on-line banking systems,
- in 2003 the development of the e-administration
- and in 2007 the explosion of the citizen journalism.

I was born en1973 in Morocco. I arrived in Paris in 1991 to follow my studies. Two years of preparatory classes then an engineer diploma lead me to the Thomson laboratory of research where i worked during 12 month on Mosaic (the first internet browsers).

I joined Capgemini in 1997 as design engineer. In 1999 I participated to the creation of a marketplace dedicated to the on-line brokers. In 2002 i came back to Capgemini to manage several projects for the French administration on Internet. In March, 2007, I co-founded Rue89 with Pierre Haski, Pascal Riché, Laurent Mauriac and Arnaud Aubron.
In May 2007 I took the responsability of the new media and Internet team in the France 24 IT department.
In December 2007, we launch The Observers, a worldwide social network with France 24 correspondants. http://observers.france24.com
