My primary role is as Managing Director of NixonMcInnes - http://www.nixonmcinnes.co.uk.
NixonMcInnes is the largest independent social media agency in the UK, enabling major international brands to harness new forms of media and technology to accomplish their business objectives and improve their relationships with the world.
Current clients include: Channel 4, Cisco, Oxfam, O2, BMW, MoreThan, Hachette Filipacchi, University of Southampton and Co-operative Financial Services.
My responsibilities are guiding the strategic direction of the business, marketing the business, creating new business partner relationships, and public speaking.
My goals are to grow NixonMcInnes' reputation on the international stage, to grow our client base of visionary marketers within major brands and to be contributing to and making sense of online innovations as they happen.
Deep expertise in new emerging channels and technologies that can be harness for online communication and marketing, for both B2C and B2B brands.
Current areas of research and practice include:
• Achieving distribution and sales growth through widgets
• Engaging through microblogging & vlogging
• Exploring virtual worlds, particularly Second Life
• Leveraging the Facebook platform
• Improving ecommerce performance thru social commerce

Safety Net is a training provider to the childrens workforce. We aim to promote childrens safety and prevent abuse. The project is based in Whitehawk, Brighton, and is involved in a number of valuable projects to develop child safety. In addition to general Trustee responsibilities, I have been brought in specifically to help with the external communications and marketing of the organisation.
