We currently are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to lead multiple client engagement teams, work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services, and lead business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts.

We are growing our Advisory practice to support both providers and payers in addressing challenges facing the healthcare industry. Our healthcare advisory team focuses on providing advisory services in the following areas to address key Senior Leadership issues: hospital operations, revenue cycle, reimbursement/regulatory, finance transformation, supply chain, managed care-provider and managed care-payer operations. Our Advisory Performance Improvement staff work collaboratively with health care providers, executive, physicians, clinicians and staff to help them in their efforts to radically reduce operating costs and improve margins without sacrificing quality of care. We strategize with our clients to create an infrastructure that enables sustainable, measureable improvement in an uncertain time of regulatory reform. Our teams include clinicians who have deep clinical and leadership experience in serving hospitals and health systems reduce costs and optimize the quality of care. We incorporate leading practices, tools and training that help make operational change stick.

Our Managed Care-Provider team works with a broad spectrum of not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare clients, including hospitals, healthcare systems, physician practices and academic medical centers, to develop and implement contracting strategies.

Our Performance Improvement team is focused on helping clients improve business and operational efficiency while managing risk. We help clients by delivering assessment, transformation and process efficiency solutions in specialty areas like operations, finance, supply chain, IT Advisory, customer, people and organization change, strategic direction, and program management.

Lead large scale transformation client engagements. Consistently deliver quality client services. Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.

Effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment. Play an active role in counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization.

Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.

Demonstrate deep technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge. Possess in depth business acumen. Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.

To qualify, candidates must have:
  • a bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience
  • a degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business; CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH is a plus
  • approximately 6+ years of healthcare advisory/consulting experience, preferably with prior experience as a senior manager (or above), in a consulting firm or in a senior management role within industry
  • previous experience leading large scale change efforts for clients, hospital financial turnaround or significant performance improvement activity including assessment and implementation activities including measurement and monitoring of results
  • ability to read and interpret financial statements and contract terms,
  • ability to develop, analyze and utilize complex financial models, (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access)
  • lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
  • manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors (c-suite)
  • demonstrated record of driving revenue within existing healthcare clients and in developing new prospects at the "C" level of large healthcare companies
  • develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
  • develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thought leadership" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
  • ability to lead a team of consulting professionals on multiple projects to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)
  • characteristics of a forward thinker and self starter that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • a strong work ethic
  • a willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%
  • a valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel internationally
